i went home this weekend, and i thought i saw an amish woman drive a golfcart, but it turned out to be a mennonite. can we go through the differences because the only things i can think of is that mennonites wear little white hats, unlike the amish bonnet, and they fully engage in electronic luxuries.
also, could you see a rumble between the amish and mennonites?

Re: amish vs. mennonite
Tue, June 15, 2004 - 5:44 PMHey, I used to go to a mennonite church growing up (our neighbor took us little heathens). Mennonites can have electricity and drive cars,as long as they're dark and dreary looking. -

Re: amish vs. mennonite
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 11:36 PMIf you are ever in Lancaster PA take the Amish Farm tour. I went last winter and learned A LOT. Both the Amish and Mennonite wear prayer coverings, however they are different. I have some pictures from the tour that I can post if anyone is interested. I was back again over the 4th and got some more pics of the Amish.

Tue, July 20, 2004 - 3:45 PMThey will not pose for pictures, but they are used to people taking pictures of them because they are 'different' especially if you didn't grow up around them.

Re: amish vs. mennonite
Sat, June 30, 2007 - 8:50 PMWe Mennonites are nether required nor do we only drive dark colored cars, in fact my car is white and my pickup is red. Just like any faith group there are several different groups of Mennonite churches. The person driving the golf cart was probably from what some people refer to as an "old order Mennonite church.
